Filtering Data

When using any of the filtering functions with regard to precise values, you must enter the value as a multiple of the selected unit of measure.  e.g. if you wish to view only Total Assets greater than $10 Billion and the display unit is in thousands, you must enter “Total Assets > 10,000,000” (thousands) rather than “> 10,000,000,000” (units).

When creating a new filter, all arguments are sequential in the order they are entered.  i.e. there is no precedence given to either of the "AND" & "OR" logical operators.  After creating the filter, you must return to the <Special>, <Apply Filter> function.

It is important to note that the filter function only hides the excluded data; the function does not remove the data from memory so that you may remove the filter and view all the data without the delay of downloading all the data again.  However, on account of this design, the use of the <Copy> function will paste all the data (hidden and unhidden) to other applications.

In addition, the <Hide/Unhide Company> and tghe <Hide/Unhide Stock> functions will also disable the filtering function.

Sorting Data

You should await complete the download of all data before proceeding to sorting and other manipulation of data as the cell and data references may be lost for subsequent data downloads into the existing Worksheet.

           Hide/Unhide Function

There are two <Hide/Unhide> functions available to simplify the analysis of data.  <Hide/Unhide Stock> will hide the selected stock (where multiple classes of shares exist).  By default, the Screening window will hide all but the main trading stock of all companies.  To view all listed share classes, select <Unhide Stock>.  To hide all but the main trading share, select the entire worksheet (Ctrl-A) and select <Hide Stock>.

The <Hide/Unhide Company> will hide the selected company.  Multiple companies may be hidden by holding the Ctrl key while selecting multiple companies.  To view all companies, select the entire sheet (Ctrl-A) before selecting <Unhide Company>.
